What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel Front Desk Agent position at Comfort Inn?
Seeking a Front Desk Agent at the Comfort Inn hotel in Edison, NJ. Looking for a candidate who can be flexible with their schedule to accommodate various shifts. Specifically looking for a candidate who can work a few morning shifts (7 AM to 3 PM) and evening shifts (3 PM to 11 PM) during the week. Someone who is a fast learner, has good computer skills, has a positive attitude, can handle multi-tasking, can provide Exceptional customer service to our guests. You will be expected to work in a team environment, but also alone for majority of the shift. During shifts you may be the 'manager on duty' as a manager is not always present.
The Front Desk Agent represents the hotel to the guest throughout all stages of the guest’s stay.
-Responsible for greeting each and every guest as they enter and exit the building
-Responsible for checking guests in and out of the hotel
-Helps guest complete e-registration, assigns rooms, accommodating special requests whenever possible.
-Verifies the guest’s method of payment and follows established credit-checking procedures.
-Works closely with the housekeeping department in keeping room status reports up to date and coordinates requests for maintenance and repair work.
-Respond effectively to guest complaints and provide excellent customer service to hotel guests
-Responsible for completing all required training in a prompt manner as assigned by management
-Must be sales-minded. Presents options and alternatives to guests and offers assistance in making choices. Knows the location and types of available rooms as well as the activities and services of the property as well as the surrounding areas.
Requirements:
-This position requires EXCELLENT customer service skills, positive and courteous attitude
-Must be proficient with utilizing computer applications
-Must have reliable transportation
-Must arrive on time for scheduled shift to relieve previous shift
-Must be able to maintain a professional manner in stressful situations
-Must wear hotel provided uniform and adhere to requirements on appropriate work attire
-Experience in working in the hotel industry is preferred but not required; most important qualities are communication skills, excellent customer service, computer knowledge and reliability.
