Process Engineer

The Process Engineer is responsible evaluating existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to promote safety, reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process. 

 HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Demonstrates the Core Values of Comfort Research in daily actions, execution of tasks and interactions with others.
• Practices a relentless safety focus including improving process safety through process engineering support and implementation of best practices.
• Provides management and execution of new product processes. Establishes procedures and qualification plan for new product implementation and refining existing ones.
• Provides expertise for troubleshooting of processes including risk analysis, incident investigation, and corrective action implementation.
• Trains and develops site operations, and maintenance personnel in technology and best practices. Facilitate collaboration and communication between shifts.
• Executes process improvement through systematic experimentation and hands-on approach to solving problems.
• Uses data-driven process decision making based on timely and thorough data analysis.
• Schedules and monitors the sampling of all new items and reports back to appropriate departments on the sampling and the recommended next steps; team member of first piece sample sign off.
• Manages and coordinate transition from product development to final production.
• Pilots, prototypes, and scales-up prototypes to test for manufacturing and quality issues.
• Analyzes product specifications to develop process and design alternatives.
• Ensures safe and effective implementations and compliance with all company policies

Requirements

•  Associates degree minimum and Bachelor's degree preferred in a technical field
• 2 years' experience in manufacturing process improvement
• Lean Six-Sigma manufacturing experience
• Data analysis skills, with a proven history of making data-driven decisions
• Knowledge of chemical processes and plant equipment
• Project management experience
• New product development experience
• Ability to interface effectively with different backgrounds at different levels of the organization
• Demonstrated success in complete process ownership of a 24x7/5 manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated track record of achieving safety, efficiency, and productivity improvements via technology best practice implementation
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to operate a keyboard if required to perform the essential job functions
• Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions
• Ability to travel if required performing the essential job functions
• Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 25 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions
