We are currently looking for a skilled Plasma Pipe Cutter
Job Summary: As a Plasma Pipe Cutter Operator for HVAC manufacturing, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the Lincoln Vernon Plasma Pipe Cutter to produce precise cuts on various types of pipes used in HVAC systems. You will ensure the efficient and accurate fabrication of pipes according to specifications provided by engineers or supervisors, contributing to the seamless production process and the quality of HVAC products.
Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation: Operate the Lincoln Vernon Plasma Pipe Cutter machine effectively and safely to cut pipes according to specific dimensions and angles required for HVAC manufacturing.
- Material Preparation: Prepare pipes for cutting by inspecting them for defects, ensuring they meet quality standards, and positioning them correctly on the cutting bed.
- Programming and Setup: Set up and program the Plasma Pipe Cutter based on job specifications, including inputting cutting parameters, dimensions, and angles into the machine's control panel.
- Quality Control: Monitor the cutting process to ensure precise and accurate cuts, making adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standards and minimize material waste.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on the Plasma Pipe Cutter, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during operation to minimize downtime.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while operating the Plasma Pipe Cutter, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following machine safety guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including job orders, material usage, and machine maintenance logs, to track productivity and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate with other members of the manufacturing team, including supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel, to prioritize jobs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely completion of projects.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machine operation or HVAC manufacturing preferred.
- Proven experience operating CNC or automated machinery, preferably the Lincoln Vernon Plasma Pipe Cutter or similar equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in basic math and measurement skills for accurate dimensioning and calculation of material requirements.
- Attention to detail and quality with a commitment to producing precision cuts and meeting tight tolerances.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy pipes and materials (up to 50 pounds) safely.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in a noisy, industrial environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.
