Summary You will serve as a SMALL ARMS REPAIRER in the Installation Security Department of NAVSTA NEWPORT SECURITY DETACHMENT.
Responsibilities You will interpret instructions and guides to assemble, disassemble, and adjust weapons. You will perform cleaning and maintenance on small arms weapons (e.
g., revolvers, automatic pistols, shotguns, rifles). You will inspect weapon parts to determine if replacement is necessary.
You will disassemble and reassemble weapons, subassemblies, or other components using instructions and guides. You will troubleshoot weapons to determine if replacement is necessary for parts.

The Screen-out Element for this position is : I have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including 1) Disassembling, cleaning, and performing maintenance on small arms such as revolvers, automatic pistols, shot guns and rifles;
and 2) Assembling small arms in accordance with instructions and manuals; 3) Manually operating small arm assemblies to check for proper action / operation.
