Kitchen Equipment Technician $27.00 per hour

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS   Specializes in inspecting, troubleshooting, and maintaining kitchen refrigeration systems, commercial kitchen appliances, and all other kitchen equipment including but not limited to: walk in coolers/freezers, ice machines, reach in coolers/freezers, prep tables, hot stations, commercial ovens, commercial ventilation systems, etc.  Performs regular maintenance and repairs of various types of kitchen equipment at multiple locations to ensure the kitchens are operational at all times. Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment. Is able to lift a maximum of fifty (50) pounds. Communicates to supervisor to ensure proper inventory levels are secured. Maintain detailed and accurate records. Completes assigned work orders and return all paperwork to Supervisor. Complies with all health and safety regulations, policies, and established work practices. Performs all other work-related duties as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor.   The duties listed are not set forth for the purposes of limiting the assignment of work. They are not to be construed as a complete list of the many duties normally to be performed under a position title or those to be assigned and performed temporarily outside of an employee’s normal line of work.   QUALIFICATIONS   Work Experience Required:  Minimum 3 years of experience troubleshooting commercial kitchen equipment. Must have knowledge of HVAC tools, materials, and safe work practices as well as diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques/procedures. EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification preferred.     Education: High School Diploma and/or equivalent combination of work experience and education.   Other Requirements:  Must be able to speak, read, and understand English. Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems; ability to maintain hot water system and repairs to commercial kitchen equipment. Must demonstrate positive/enthusiastic approach to all assignments. Must be clean, well-groomed, and have a professional appearance. Attendance and punctuality are an essential function of the position.   Must possess an ability to work with minimal supervision and make educated ethical decisions as necessary.  Must be able to resolve conflicts and have effective communication skills with all levels of employees and be able to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment. Must demonstrate an ability to work independently, prepare detailed professional correspondence, memoranda, policies, procedures as well as regulations related to the employee’s duties. A general knowledge of the Windows based computer operating systems is also required.   SCHEDULED HOURS   Commerce Casino operates 24 hours, 7 days a week.  Schedules may vary depending on business needs.
