What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fire Protection Sales position at Commercial Fire & Communications, Inc.?
We are seeking a candidate with extensive sales abilities and a proven track record of surpassing sales targets.
Responsibilities:
- Develop positive working relationships with customers interested in purchasing design, fabrication, and installation of fire sprinkler systems.
- Demonstrate products or services and provide assistance in the best application of products or services.
- Read and comprehend plans and specifications.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates including design, materials, fabrication, equipment, permits, subcontracts, consulting fees, and installation labor.
- Negotiate, review, and execute price and terms of agreements.
- Meet with owners, property managers, contractors and subcontractors on site to review site conditions and discuss bid scope when necessary.
- Maintain knowledge and have a clear understanding on the application of all local and national codes, specifications, and guidelines set forth by authorities having jurisdiction.
- Participate in pre-bid, pre-construction, and post project completion meetings.
Qualifications:
- 1 years sales and bidding experience in the fire protection industry.
- Ability to perform a basic field survey.
- Technical understanding and knowledge of automatic sprinkler systems and components
- NICET certified is a in Water Based Layout is a plus.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software.
- Thorough understanding of general construction methods, practices, and terminology.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Strong knowledge of local and national fire and building codes, as well as government regulations.
- Success with cultivating new business and maintaining existing business relationships.
- Knowledge and experience related to the design, installation, and service of fire sprinkler systems.
- NICET certification (preferred).
- Knowledge of applicable state and local codes and relevant NFPA standards.
- Strong sales, negotiation and closing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professionalism.
- Demonstrated PC skills with experience using a customer database management system.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
Compensation includes weekly salary based on experience and skills with monthly commission, vehicle allowance, health and vacation benefits, 401k plan, and a professional work environment.
