Within our framework of a holistic, strength-focused practice, an individual hired as the Mental Health Counselor in the High School and College Success division will report directly to the Community School Director at Queens Academy High School.
Expectations:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students and provide psychosocial supports in integrated contexts throughout the school day.
- Identify goals for each student to begin tracking immediately; develop a daily report card and/or behavior intervention plan as necessary to allow for tracking of goals.
- Collaboratively revise individual student goals as needed.
- Keep progress notes of sessions with students and contact with parents/outside providers.
- Actively participate in weekly supervision meetings.
- Collaborate with administration and school staff in regard to each child’s individual therapeutic needs
- Competently utilize GSuite, specifically Google Drive, & Microsoft Office
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in mental health counseling, social work, school counseling or related field required
Work Environment:
This job operates in a school setting. The school is located on the 1st and 2nd floors of a building with no elevator. This role requires working in various locations around the school.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position in an educational facility which is open eight hours a day. Occasional evening hours may be required. In general, though, hours are Monday-Friday 7:30 A.M.-3:30 P.M.
