Direct and oversee all activities of the plant, personnel and resources in establishing the strategy and direction of manufacturing operations to meet the business demands of LUSY. Provide leadership and direction to manufacturing departments by providing strong management and guidance to implement manufacturing systems, modify facilities and improve business processes as required by performing the following duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for all aspects of food safety and quality as defined in the Plant and department procedures
- Provide manufacturing expertise, leadership and counsel to the plant organization in directing overall plant performance through strong management, professional development and effective communication of resources and staff to achieve high performance work culture.
- Responsible for overseeing the hiring, training, development, evaluation of manufacturing management staff to create a proficient and strong leadership team that is capable of achieving a high performance work culture.
- Develop and direct solutions to promote continuous improvement initiatives of overall plant operations and line performance while leading the organization’s achievement of quality and safety components in manufacturing operations.
- Lead and direct effective interactions and positive cooperation through work relationships between all levels of the organization as topics relate to manufacturing to achieve business goals optimizing manufacturing output, quality, scheduling, reliability, safety and cost variance and waste objectives.
- Champion the organizations values by leading best practices in operations supporting Safety and Quality initiatives.
- Establish clear and consistent lines of communication with the Executive team that educate the senior company leadership team on overall progress, issues and challenges of manufacturing operations with accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee the Company’s strict compliance with PMO and FDA regulations, OSHA rules and Company guidelines within operations of manufacturing.
- Oversee the achievement of financial budgetary responsibility for all areas of manufacturing (budget, capex etc).
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Oversee the implementation and adherence to Stonyfield safety practices and programs and hold fellow staff accountable.
- Report any unsafe conditions or practices to management so they may be appropriately addressed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS Degree in management, mechanical engineering or another similar discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a dairy manufacturing environment.
- Ability to be proactive, prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints in a changing and fast paced work environment with a positive attitude.
- Strong interpersonal skills to promote teamwork and positive interaction with clients, vendors, and other team members at all levels.
- Knowledge of dairy manufacturing management to effectively facilitate leadership meetings on the manufacturing team.
- Excellent communication skills to be able to effectively communicate orally educate through presentation and fluently utilize a variety of mediums to communicate through the written word in a manner that updates management and the organization on events and progress at the plant.

- Ability to adapt in a changing work environment.
- Computer proficiency: Excel, Word, and knowledge of various engineering tools and software.
