Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources strives to maintain healthy populations of fish and wildlife across the state. The employees of Kentucky Fish and Wildlife are passionate about the resource they manage. The Information and Education Division of Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife teaches youth conservation campers (grades fourth through sixth) about the importance of conservation and our agency's role in it - through our summer conservation camp program at Camp Robert C. Webb.
This Facility Maintenance Worker I position is within the Eastern District Branch and is responsible for performing general maintenance work and various custodial duties in the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment at KDFWR's "Conservation Camp Robert C. Webb" and performs other necessary maintenance duties as assigned for the operation and upkeep of Camp Robert C. Webb during the summer conservation camp season as well as during the off season.

This Facility Maintenance Worker I position is within the Eastern District Branch and is responsible for performing general maintenance work and various custodial duties in the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment at KDFWR's "Conservation Camp Robert C. Webb" and performs other necessary maintenance duties as assigned for the operation and upkeep of Camp Robert C. Webb during the summer conservation camp season as well as during the off season.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Operation of zero-turn mowers, tractors, weed eaters, UTV, welders, leaf blowers, boats and boat motors, and chainsaws.
- Performance of custodial duties to maintain camp buildings, docks, ramps, and camp activity sites – which includes facility cleaning, trash removal, vacuuming, moping, etc..
- Learns to operate and maintain camp's drinking water system and waste water treatment plant.
- Performance of assigned maintenance such as painting surfaces, using hand tools to perform minor carpentry and repairs.
- Assisting skilled trades persons in heating, ventilating, electrical, and plumbing repairs.
- Set up/tear down of equipment used during camp season and for public outreach events and meetings.
- Performance of other duties as assigned.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age.
Working Conditions
Incumbents in this job title may be exposed to extreme temperatures which requires the following of safety procedures. Must follow safety procedures, such as utilization of eye and ear protection, when utilizing certain mechanical equipment.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
