Description
Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park is a nature-lovers paradise featuring our white sand beach. The resort is located in Dawson Springs, Kentucky’s first certified Trail Town. Clifty Creek Restaurant at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park is looking for a Park Chef II. We offer a variety of foods in a warm and cozy setting for the dining room guests as well as groups for meetings and meals. Clifty Creek Restaurant has a beautiful view that overlooks the Pennyrile Lake.
The Park Chef II is a highly skilled team member, providing expertise in the restaurant, kitchen, and catering operations, allowing you a great platform to express your culinary creativity through made from scratch recipes and fresh ingredients. As one of the leaders of the culinary department, your duties would include training others and being the vital link of information on the necessities of the park, so it can operate efficiently.
Position Duties:
This position is eligible for an approved Sign-on bonus in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(6).

Position Duties:
- Supervision of all kitchen staff including scheduling, hiring, and payroll.
- Conduct ordering and inventory.
- Front line cooking of all menu items following recipe specifications.
- Cooking for buffets including specialty recipes, meats, vegetables, deserts, and soups.
- Salad bar preparation.
- Ensure a clean and organized kitchen.
- Deliver the most pleasant experience for our guests.
- Participates, implements, and manages food product consistency
- Enforces departmental rules, regulations, and policies.
- Ability to work in team setting and on your own.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Trustworthiness, dependability, integrity.
- Willingness to work a variety of shifts/hours based on guest needs.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have four years of food preparation experience in salads, vegetables, or meats. Two years of the required experience must include management or supervision in a large-scale institutional or commercial full-service restaurant or state resort park food facility.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: One year of culinary training will substitute for one year of the food preparation experience.

Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
