DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Career Advisor Trainee, you will receive formal and on-the-job training designed to develop technical skills and knowledge in providing customer-centered services designed to enhance workforce development activities and service strategies for jobseekers and employers.

In this role, you will provide career guidance to assist jobseekers in making and carrying out career decisions for success in the labor market; identify suitability for and/or barriers to employment/training as well as appropriate tools and resources for jobseekers to achieve employment goals; provide services to employers, including making employer contacts, analyzing employer workforce and economic development needs, analyzing occupations to determine the skill sets needed by jobseekers, coordinating special recruitment services, and referring qualified jobseekers to openings; propose hiring strategies and solutions to address recruitment and retention issues; etc.

  • Full-time employment
  • Work Hours: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm; Monday - Friday; 30 minute lunch
    • Work hours may be negotiable and are based on operational need.
  • Multiple positions may be filled from this posting

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements - Four years of public contact work that involved interviewing the public to obtain, provide, and evaluate information concerning employment or employability; OR a bachelor’s degree.

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police, Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI clearance.
