DESCRIPTION OF WORK

A Fiscal Technician performs advanced bookkeeping duties in recording, reviewing, processing, and controlling financial records and documents.

This involves examining a variety of financial records and documents for propriety, quality, and conformance to established accounting procedures and maintenance of difficult bookkeeping systems.

You will have the opportunity to review and establish internal processing procedures and perform your work independently within a framework of prescribed accounting procedures and regulations.

Teamwork is key as fiscal and accounting problems and irregularities will be referred to the fiscal officer who will also review work periodically and upon completion for overall standards of performance.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Travel, overtime, and work after hours may be required.
  • Salary : In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS :

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements :

  • One year as a Fiscal Assistant; or
  • Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices and graduation from high school; or
  • One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements :

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Monroe County. If no eligible candidates who live within Monroe County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements :

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
