The Pennsylvania State Employees’ Retirement System (SERS) is seeking a responsible, detail-oriented individual to join our Harrisburg office as a SERS Retirement Counselor Trainee. In this role, you will participate in a one-year training program to learn position responsibilities and will be promoted to SERS Retirement Counselor after successful completion of the training program. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position provides counseling services to out-of-state SERS members and participants in the Deferred Compensation and Defined Contribution Plans. It also conducts extensive research for appeals packages, responds to correspondence received from active and retired members, and provides Retired Employee Health Plan (REHP) and counseling support to both central office and field operations.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute unpaid meal period.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, depending on operational needs and progress in learning assigned tasks. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to work on-site.
