Your previous training and expertise will help you provide the care and treatment of patients at the Wernersville State Hospital. In this position, you will provide medical services, including the annual physical and neurological examinations, for the consumers who call Wernersville State Hospital home. By identifying their medical treatment needs, you will be responsible for treatment of physically ill consumers and related medical functions. This also includes facilitating their transfer to a community hospital for emergency or non-emergency medical treatment. Your work will ensure the Psychiatrist and Treatment Team are aware of consumers with medical illnesses and their current treatment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
You will work on-duty physician coverage as scheduled.
You may work overtime as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Three years of experience and/or training in the practice of medicine.
Special Requirement:
You must possess a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Medicine Board, or the State Osteopathic Medicine Board.
Other Requirements:
PA residency requirementis currently waived for this title.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
