Hiring Range: Hiring Range is $83,087 to $95,000. Starting salary is commensurate on experience, education and other credentials related to the position within the specified hiring range.

Duties and Tasks:
- Provide direct supervision to 10-15 academic advisors.
- Coordinate case management services, including crisis intervention, academic, career, and financial counseling for NOVA students served by team of academic advisors.
- Coordinate scheduling of advisors to serve students in all modes including, face-to-face, virtually and by phone.
- Serve on college committees and collaborate regularly Student Services and Academic colleagues.
- Knowledge of counseling theory, particularly human development and student development, career development and multicultural counseling theory.
- Knowledge of leading producers of community college research and best practices, including but not limited to ATD, CCRC, AACC.
- Knowledge of college readiness research, persistence/retention and completion research and best practices for traditional and non-traditional students.
- Knowledge of evaluation and assessment methods including analyzing and interpreting data.
- Skill in providing coordination, supervision, and leadership to a diverse team of professionals.
- Computer and data literacy skills.
- Skill in organizational leadership and effective team building.
- Skill in providing academic, career, and personal counseling to adolescents and adults.
- Skill in written communication, including the development of letters, memos, presentations, and course materials.
- Skill in oral communication, including large and small group presentations and class lectures.
- Skill in case management, including tracking of student caseload and the collection and reporting of data.
- Proficiently skilled in computer usage, including Microsoft Office, e-mail, PeopleSoft Student Information System, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and research.
- Ability to independently plan and coordinate a variety of programs and projects.
- Ability to develop, disseminate, interpret, and enforce campus and program policies and regulations.
- Ability to maintain an office and program climate respectful of diversity and multiculturalism.

Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Higher Education, Education, Psychology, or in a field appropriately related to the position. Qualifying degree must have been awarded by a regionally accredited institution.
- Substantial experience in advising in a postsecondary setting.
- More than five years of experience in a community college setting in an advising capacity.
- Demonstrated knowledge of post-secondary transition, academic advising, career and transfer planning, crisis intervention, and serving underrepresented student populations.
- Experience conducting and/or interpreting research.
- Bilingual proficiency.
