Job Description:
Minimum Qualifications:Supervises Grounds employees ensuring that the responsibilities of landscape services at Radford University are completed in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with accepted horticultural and agronomic practices, pesticide usage practices, general construction and planning techniques, and equipment usage and maintenance practices. Extensive knowledge of turf and ornamental horticulture and modern accepted maintenance techniques. Working knowledge of landscaping and commercial mowing equipment and their capabilities and limitations. Basic math and mechanical are required. Proficient with written and verbal communication. Demonstrated supervisory experience. Ability to read plans, prepare estimates, and perform physical manual labor for completion of a landscape project.
Preferred Qualifications:Prior experience in landscaping supervision. Experience working in a University setting. Extensive commercial landscape, turf, or horticultural experience. Previous experience with irrigation repair or installation. Certified Fertilizer Applicator license issued by VDACS. Previous experience with grading, site work, and/or construction project sites and conditions.
