How You'll help us to connect the world:
The Cloud Engineer is accountable for leading the design, development, and implementation of our public, private and hybrid cloud platforms and services. This role would also provide leadership, oversight, and standard methodologies into the DevOps organization.
You will ensure a highly available, secure Platform as a Service (PaaS) framework that is suitable for other parts of the organization to develop and maintain their own Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. An ideal candidate should be familiar with DBA/CSA data privacy concepts, including regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, SAFE and HIPAA.
The right candidate should possess a degree in Computer Science, 10 years of hands-on experience in technical/engineering software design and 5 years in designing, implementing, and maintaining large, complex cloud systems in the latest technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and mentor and possess proven excellence in written and verbal communication skills
Must have a strong background in software engineering principles and techniques.
Work with IT and our Security team to ensure the public cloud is secure and up to security standards
Experience in web application technologies and middleware solutions.
The candidate should have a good understanding of the operating systems such as Linux, Unix, Solaris, Ubuntu, Windows and MacOS
Exposure with basic internet principles such as HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, Networking, Load Balancing, etc.
A deep understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies like Kubernetes and Docker
NoSQL database systems (Mongo, Cassandra, HBase, BigTable, Redis)
Message and queuing systems like MQTT, Kafka and SQS
cloud security and identity (Conditional access, authentication, federation, SSO/MFA)
Strong solid understanding of OpenID, OAuth, SAML and other SSO mechanisms
Knowledge of common continuous integration/development (CI/CD) pipelines, requirements documentation and unit test automation suites (GIT, BitBucket, Confluence, JIRA, etc.)
Fluent in JAVA, NodeJS, Python, C languages and with some knowledge in Erlang and/or Go
Understanding of front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
Experience with Infrastructure as Code and Code Automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet and Ansible
Experienced with microservices in a distributed environment
