We are looking for a Lab Systems Engineer in Suwanee, GA.
How You'll Help Us Connect the World:
This role will be responsible towards maintaining on-premises servers, storage, and network equipment for the CPE Validation Test lab. We will look to you to design basic computing infrastructure to accomplish key tasks, establishing networking rules and fixing network errors or other technical issues. We will expect you to plan, install, configure, and manage all aspects of the lab.You will also be engaged in billable project activities with the Professional Services QA group including, but not limited to, test planning, test execution and reporting, debugging/reproducing lab issues, implementing automation scripts, participating in internal/external test review meetings, and tracking and driving resolutions for defects. Setup test environments and implement manual and automated tests to validate the interoperability of CPEs (DSL, cable modems, set-top boxes, etc.) with ACS (Auto configuration server). When necessary, training will be provided.We will encourage the incumbent to work strategically under consultative direction toward predetermined goals and quality targets. You will exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Specific responsibilities include:
* Installing and configuring hardware and software components and fix related issues. Repair or replace damaged hardware and upgrade systems to enable compatible software
* Develop and maintain requested lab equipment configurations documentation. Responsible for ongoing activity log
* Install test equipment including LAN side or wireless devices as needed
* Participate in test plan review in team and provide feedback on coverage and optimization. Work with company staff to resolve technical issues in a lab environment
* Travel to company sites and work on additional tasks and responsibilities that will contribute towards team, department and company goals; perform other tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications for Consideration:
* Bachelor's or associate degree in computer science or engineering or related field with 3 years of experience or HS Diploma with 5 years of work experience
* 2 years of demonstrable experience in systems administration or systems engineering roles
* Experience fixing network and server infrastructures
* Accomplished Linux administrator
* Basic knowledge of Bash shell scripting
* Working knowledge of endpoint communications equipment including DSL/cable modems and gateways
* Experience with MS Windows Operating system for deployment and maintenance.
* Proven track record in communicating effectively with the customer
You Will Excite Us If You Have:
* Basic database administration and scripting skills and experience with standard protocols such as TR-369, TR-069, OD-128, and BBF.069.
* Experience with CMTS (DOCSIS) and DSL communications platforms
* Linux Certification
* Experience with Amazon Web Services configuration and solution deployment
* Robot Automation Framework scripting and test execution experience a plus
* Ability to learn commercial 3rd party automated test platforms
