How You'll Help Us Connect The World

As a champion and facilitator within our NAR Continuous Improvement Operations team, this role will develop and implement a unified approach to Lean Six Sigma using the DMAIC Methodology in with the intent to deliver high quality products & services. This will be an individual contributor or lead a Project team, driving Local or Global Solutions on High Impact Projects. Work cross functionally and interact with Customers, Operations, Planning, Quality, Supply Base, Procurement, Finance, Human Resources and other applicable areas to support Continuous Improvement opportunities. Identify value vs waste and apply structured CommScope methodologies to eliminate waste within the site(s) and across the scope of business. This involves facilitating new methodologies and approaches to resolve the natural wastes & inefficiencies that exist in site value stream(s).

More specifically this includes:

  • Providing recommendations into a living three-year Continuous Improvement strategy related to the areas of focus to help drive excellence across all products and processes and align with our overall Continuous Process Improvement Strategy. This strategy will incorporate the required elements of Corporate, Business Unit, and Site with Customers (internal or external) and organizations such as Operations, Procurement, Supply Base, Quality, Planning, Finance etc.
  • Provide training on Lean & Six Sigma tools to certify Orange & Green Belts as per requirements by holding project gate review meetings with prospective candidates. Train employees in Lean & Six Sigma principles using DMAIC Methodology. Educate Commscope personnel, customer or suppliers to deliver the Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
  • Present monthly project progress reports to management
  • Drive Lean Transformation by developing and applying methodologies like Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen or similar as applicable to processes/ products to improve value and reduce/eliminate waste. Collaborating with peers and identify improvement opportunities using advanced lean tools and provide support through training and leadership. Facilitate Lean Calendar and roadmap creation for a 12-18-month outlook.
  • Lead / support our teams to help them deliver companywide Lean solutions, lead /support corporate improvement projects, establishing benchmarks and standard methodologies and aligning with overall business goals for areas of responsibility.
  • Drive Systemic application of world class Six Sigma tools and DMAIC methodologies to reduce process and / or product variance and implement Continuous Improvement with respect to Six Sigma. Work with peers to identifying improvement opportunities applying Six Sigma Tools, deliver & provide support with training, to include leadership, and direct support. Facilitate the creation of Six Sigma Calendars and road maps for 12-18-month periods.
  • Lead and/or support collaborative multi-functional teams to deliver companywide Six Sigma solutions incorporating standard methodologies.
  • Lead & manage High Impact Six Sigma improvement projects as assigned by Champions & Sponsors. Provide support to leadership and management on improvement project progress, barriers, & issues.
  • Support the design of training modules as and when required. Training is generally considered as 10% Classroom, 20% mentoring & 70% on the job training. The 3 phases must be supported to ensure that employees master the skills required to deliver Continuous Improvement on an ongoing basis.
  • Find opportunities and promoting change with the Management team. Translate opportunities into calendar driven Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Financial & cost analysis and maintain awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues and interpretation of Commscope financial data and reports. Be skilled in understanding how to link efficiency and continuous improvement matrices to financial measures & reports.
  • Manage budget associated with projects, ensuring adequate return on investment on projects whilst delivering solutions within budget.


Required Qualifications for Consideration

  • Bachelor’s in related curriculum such as Engineering, Business, Operations and 5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Six sigma Black Belt certification and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with Advanced Lean and Six Sigma Tools like DMAIC Process Analysis, MS Office and Minitab
