Salary Range: $160,825.60 to $196,580.00 annually $12,500 leadership stipend

Established in 2023, CommuniCare OLE is the result of a union of two health centers with a deep roots in their respective communities and reputations for providing high-quality primary care to all, regardless of insurance or ability to pay: OLE Health of Napa and Solano Counties and CommuniCare Health Centers of Yolo County. Building on a legacy established by both organizations in 1972, CommuniCare OLE is a network of federally-qualified health centers with 17 sites across Napa, Solano, and Yolo Counties. It offers comprehensive care, including medical, dental, behavioral health and substance use treatment, nutrition, optometry, pharmacy, care coordination, referrals, and enrollment assistance to more than 70,000 individuals, and no one is turned away due to lack of insurance, immigration status, or ability to pay. JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Dental Director collaborates with the Chief Dental Officer to support and develop the integration of dental care services at the clinic site level. The ADD is responsible for developing the clinical staff and optimizing clinical operations. As a primary care, the ADD will also provide dental services for a panel of patients. This includes: medical dental diagnosis, treatment services and managing quality dental care services to patients.
Education, Experience, Training
Knowledge of federal, state, local and dental clinic rules regulations, protocols and procedures governing the practice of dentistry, as well as those relating to personnel issues, workplace safety, public health and confidentiality
Knowledge of Federally Qualified Health Centers and the key health center principles and guidelines
Knowledge of basic management principles and laws
Knowledge of project management practices
Duties And Responsibilities
Demonstrate mission, vision, and values while assist in leading a dental care team to provide quality dental care to patients.
Demonstrates core leadership behavior and professional communication to ensure culture of excellence and accountability.
Collaborates with head of department to supports and maintain quality measures and departmental goals set forth to support strategic organizational goals.
Demonstrates a high level of clinical dental experience encompassing scope of practice to support patients and mentor dentist to provide quality care.
Provides high level patient care following clinical guidelines and evidence-based dentistry. Promote patient centered health home by interacting with medical professionals and ancillary staff to provide comprehensive care. Accountable to quality and productivity standards as assigned.
Completes performance management, including recognitions/coaching/counseling, and performance evaluations. Assists with performance improvement plans and disciplinary as needed.
Establishes clinical reviews of individual providers’ clinical skills and provides coaching or support as needed on an individual or group basis for their respective dental clinics.
Provides mentorship and support for the professional development of DDS/DMD, RDH, RDA, DA.
Responsible for orientation and training of providers.
Initiates and completes risk management activities.
Assists with the development of the departmental budget and maintains site budget.
Completes peer review in a timely manner. Collaborates to provide oversite of provider peer review process.
Responsible for assisting in the development and review of dental policy, procedures and guidelines.
Ensure patient satisfaction at clinic is optimal and follows up with concerns as needed.
Collaborates with head of department to compose and leads site meetings. Holds check-ins with providers and meetings with supervisor/manager as needed.
Collaborates with manager/supervisors to provide leadership support with schedules, event planning, compliance, and patient concerns.
Coordinate, schedule and supervise/train student rotations of dentist, hygienist, and dental assistants.
Participates in community outreach events.
In the absence of Chief Dental Officer, may carry out the day-to-day duties and responsibilities of Chief Dental Officer.
Conducts/coordinates/develops other trainings as requested by Chief Dental Officer or CEO.
Performs other duties as assigned.

- DDS or DMD from an accredited school of dentistry.
- Must be licensed to practice dentistry in the State of California.
- Must possess or obtain a DEA registration.
- Must maintain CEUs as required for license renewal.
- Must certify and remain current in CPR.
- Three years of practice in all aspects of general dentistry preferably in a community-based dental clinic.
- Two years of management experience in a dental clinic/practice/program.
