REPORTS TO: 21stCCLC Program Manager

STATUS: Non-exempt, Full Time (40 hours per week) $20 per hour. Year-round position.

Position Overview:

The 21st CCLC Program Coordinator is responsible for contributing to the overall planning and coordination of the 21stCCLC afterschool and summer program. The 21st CCLC Program Coordinator will work with community partners and volunteers to coordinate afterschool and summer programming necessary to address the academic, social and emotional needs of students who are at risk of dropping out of school and who have identified vulnerabilities. Through the coordination of afterschool programming, including individual and group interventions as well as prevention activities, the 21st CCLC Program Coordinator is a key player in helping student’s progress towards goals outlined in the project plan, which include SEL, academic progress, family support and more. The 21st CCLC Program Coordinator works closely with school leadership and collaborative partners providing quality programming for students, as well as families.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Planning, Data Collection, and Communication

· This role is dual responsibility to implement the before school, after school, and summer programs, as well as implementing day to day CISSC model components.

· Work closely with the Program Coordinator and school administration and families to understand the needs/opportunities of students and program goals

· Secure and manage community support and partnerships to meet programming and student needs through the CISSC model.

· Coordinates data collection plan to evaluate the effectiveness of services in achieving identified 21st CCLC grant goals and CISSC Model implementation.

· Documents progress and track site and student outcomes. Monitor and adjust services as needed to maximize effectiveness and impact.

· Communicate student progress with school administrators, counselors, and administrative designees.

· Case management of students for the Communities in Schools model; implementation of the model

Coordinates Staff and Volunteers

· Schedules certified, and classified staffing and volunteer needs to create afterschool and summer time programming.

· Provide guidance and support to staff and volunteers to perform their roles effectively.

· Assists key staff and project leaders to secure outside resources and program supplies as needed.

· Responsible for overall scheduling and coordination of volunteers, tutors, and mentors.

Promotes Parent Engagement and Education Opportunities

· Communicate with families about student’s progress and opportunities for further learning.

· Develop and support expected school-based events based on the identified needs of the families and students.

· Connect families to community resources through take-home materials and family nights/events.

· Involve parents in program leadership and encourage participation in school leadership groups.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to positively connect with students and staff in a school environment.

· Successful experience with planning, implementing and directing academic and enrichment-based activities for youth.

· Experience with planning, coordinating and facilitating extracurricular, after school, summer, or community-based youth programs.

· Ability to work with youth and families from a diverse population.

· Knowledge of specific computer skills/programs including Microsoft Office Suite.

· Strong organizational, project management and communication skills.

· Must manage multiple tasks and be able to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision.

· Demonstrated commitment to helping young people stay in school and prepare for life.

· Ability to understand, implement and maintain quality and conduct monthly program evaluation.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree in youth development, recreation, education, social work or work experience in related field.

· Staff supervision experience and volunteer coordination preferred.

· Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and ability to pass a background and FBI fingerprint check.

· Experience dealing with multiple layers of supervision

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day programs and activities. Ability to work and get along with diverse personalities and cultures while at all times displaying tact, maturity, and flexibility. Physical requirements include seeing, hearing, sitting, standing, walking, running, bending, twisting, stooping, and lifting up to 25lbs occasionally.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The 21stCCLC Program Coordinator will spend time at their assigned schools to provide guidance and support to staff members, students and community volunteers. Working hours may vary depending on activities and events, generally weekdays between 8:00- 6:00pm. Hours worked per week shall not exceed 40 hours
