Under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Custodian will clean the Community Advocates building in accordance with company guidelines and procedures. The Custodian will also perform general maintenance in the building and will be responsible for providing a safe and sanitary environment throughout all areas of the building.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean all three levels of the main building, including, but not limited to vacuuming/mopping all floors, cleaning all bathrooms, dusting and cleaning designated areas, clean all meeting rooms/kitchens, empty all trash/recycling and take to outside bins, etc. Cleaning will be done based on a prescribed schedule. You will travel to other worksites in the Milwaukee Area as well
- Perform deeper cleaning a couple of times per year as directed by the Chief Operating Officer.
- Perform routine and general maintenance and repairs.
- Monitor cleaning supplies notifying COO of low inventories.
- Maintain and arrange for repair of cleaning equipment based on agency guidelines.
- Set up and take down of large meeting rooms as dictated by meeting schedules.
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Prefer candidates with basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical repairs and have at least 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Must possess High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- Must have valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation to drive to various office sites.
- Be organized and have the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse work force.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to move furniture and move and/or lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
