Community Assessment & Treatment Services is a non-profit substance abuse center in Cleveland, OH. Our mission is to to promote the social justice needs of the community by providing high-quality, cost-effective, evidence-based interventions that comprehensively address the chemical dependency and behavioral health needs of a diverse clientele.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process billing/insurance claims including:
HMOs, Medicare, Contracts, Follow-Ups, and AOD Billing.
- Process Client EBT applications, ordering and processing the EBT cards.
- Process all CCIS Web Admits and Terminations.
- Run monthly reports to verify that CCIS Web is accurate.
- Conduct insurance follow-up for incorrect or denied payments.
- Safeguard confidentiality and secure storage of clients’ records to meet HIPAA guidelines and standards.
- Compile, process, and maintain clients’ records in a manner consistent with administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the agency.
- Process, maintain, compile, and report client information for health requirements and standards.
- Plan and implement quality assurance for all processes.
- Ensure that the client records contain accurate information and that services are appropriately documented in the record.
- Provide data entry backup when indicated by departmental needs.
- Assemble clients’ information, ensuring clients’ charts are complete, all forms are completed, and all necessary information is documented in the database.
- Close and scan files for archival purposes into the medical records system.
- May regularly communicate with agency staff to clarify information or to obtain additional information for inclusion in the client record.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and clerical skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and following directions
- Proficient with standard PC operations (Word, Excel & Adobe applications)
- Ability to operate standard office machines and equipment.
- Able to bend, lift, and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
Credentials / Academic Requirements:
One (1) year of related medical billing experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
