Business Loan Underwriter

Description

As a full time Underwriter/Analyst with Community Bank in College Place, you will be expected to input, review, and underwrite consumer and small business loan requests in accordance with the bank's underwriting standards and within regulatory guidelines. You will be eligible for bank paid health, dental, vision, and life insurance along with paid holidays, vacation, and sick time.

Requirements

Essential Functions

• Review loan application packages and ensure accuracy of system input.
• Analyze credit reports and financial statements.
• Calculate cash available for debt service including self-employed borrower analysis using business financial statements.
• Spread financial information in nCino.
• Analyze business and personal tax returns to calculate global cash flow. 
• Apply bank loan procedures and policies.
• Write credit memorandums.
• Make loan decisions within approval authority guidelines.
• Maintain acceptable turnaround times for processing all loan requests.
• Clearly communicate loan decisions, terms and conditions to relationship manager.
• Perform real estate evaluations according to policy guidelines.
• Order title policy, appraisals, flood search, and any environmental assessments. Review preliminary title reports.
• Order loan documents from centralized loan servicing department.
• Prepare decline forms when applicable and ensure accurate disclosure of any reasons for adverse action at whatever time during the processing period if it is determined that applicants do not qualify.
• Ensure adherence to consumer and commercial loan underwriting standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Responsible for maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and regulations concerning consumer lending.
• Work closely with branch personnel, keeping them informed of changes in policies and procedures and assist in training branch staff to strengthen lending knowledge.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with preference in Business Administration or Finance, or equivalent related experience.
• One year experience in Banking or related Financial Services.
• Has or can obtain MLO registration through NMLS
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be bondable.
