Job Summary
Adult Education Assessment Coordinator coordinates and maintains GED® testing operations at the CCRI Liston and Flanagan campuses; and CASAS testing delivery for offsite workforce classes.

Duties and Responsibilities
Commitment to CCRI’s Mission:
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy and mission of a comprehensive community college.
  • Work collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive and student-centered environment, with students of various learning styles, cultures, identities, and life-experiences.

Data Management:
  • Keep secure, detailed, and organized records of exam and assessment processes (for example, Pearson Vue GED®) in accordance with federal and state law using paper and digital methods.

GED Assessment:
  • Work with Adult Education team to coordinate scheduling, staffing and logistics of GED® testing at Providence and Lincoln campuses.
  • Assist HSE candidates by providing information, and support resolution of problems related to HSE assessment.
  • Serve as a GED® examiner.
  • Maintain Pearson VUE Administrator Certification and knowledge of HSE Assessment options.
  • Work with GED.com Accommodations department to schedule custom test sessions at Liston campus in response to student requests.

CASAS Assessment:
  • Work with Adult Education team to coordinate scheduling, staffing and logistics of Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System (CASAS) for workforce programs on campus and at offsite locations.
  • Serve as a CASAS examiner.
  • Maintain certifications in and knowledge of CASAS Assessment options.
  • Communicate clearly with students about next steps after testing including class placement and referral to support services.

Communication & Technology:
  • Develop and publicize monthly testing schedule.
  • Monitor communications to maintain assessment operations.
  • Monitor and keep inventory of assessment supplies & keep assessment areas neat, tidy and in accordance with test provider standards.
  • Collaborate with technical staff from IT and Advising to maintain functionality of test delivery system in shared computer lab.

  • Other job-related duties assigned.

Minimum Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • HSE/GED plus 3 years of work experience
  • Proficiency with desktop information technology, including personal computers Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, primarily), Google G-Suite and email .and associated equipment and software required.
  • Experience communicating with people from diverse backgrounds is required.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and oral (including minimum conversational Spanish) required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred.
  • Proficiency with office equipment such as printers, faxes, telephone systems, and copiers preferred.
  • An understanding of ADA accommodations preferred.
  • Knowledge/experience of 2014 GED® testing procedures and interpretation of results is preferred.
  • Knowledge of adult education system in Rhode Island preferred.
