Community Connections Children’s Mental Health Program in Ketchikan is looking for a full-time Service Coordinator – This position is responsible for coordinating individualized, multi-support services for children experiencing severe emotional disturbance and their families. In partnership with the treatment team ensures children and youth are provided with services to support the successful completion of treatment goals. This position is the main hub of information and services for a client, the staff working with them and the external collaborators. Provide supervision and leadership for Support Specialists and collaboration with Child and Family Therapists.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs supervisory functions: interview, provide ongoing training and support, conduct performance reviews, initiate staff recognition, and address performance issues and concerns;

Provides direct service to clients and models excellent client and family interventions and engagement;

Completes documentation of service provision and ensures client documentation including but not limited to note templates and treatment plans are maintained, updated and renewed;

Coordinates the wrap-a-round process and team meetings through effective communication, supports and encouragement with internal and external team members;

Manages the scheduling of both staff and clients to balance the competing and complex needs of clients, staff, and schools;

Implements and monitors individual service plans for clients by gathering team feedback, arranging for supportive services, and collaborating with staff, parents and external treatment team members to ensure high quality interventions;

Ensure timely and accurate submittal of documentation including time sheets and service notes from staff; track staff requirements and follow up on missing documentation.

Seeks clarification and follows through on expectations regarding which actions/changes must be approved by director;

Gives feedback to and seeks feedback from team members, family members and supervisor in a constructive way;

Adapts to communication style of individuals from different cultural backgrounds and makes; adaptations according to specific developmental, mental health and medical needs;

Maintains mutually respectful boundaries and abides to confidentiality at all times;

Adapts to challenging situations and possesses creative problem solving while working independently;

Is dependable and follows through on commitments;

Have strong oral and written communication skills;

Represents the agency in a professional manner;

Adheres to all agency policies and procedures and asks for clarification when necessary;

Adheres to all State and Federal laws and regulations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Two years of post-secondary training in the human service field and two years’ experience working with youth and/or their families experiencing mental health conditions

Supervisory and/or work experience in mental health services may be substituted for post-secondary training by the approval of the Executive Director

One year of experience in creating professional and compliant documentation

Must be able to pass a criminal background check under agency guidelines and state regulations.

PREFFERED

Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: psychology, social work, guidance & counseling, education or other human service area and one year experience working with community-based children’s mental health services. Supervisory experience is also preferred.

REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

Must obtain an Alaska Driver License and have access to a car and liability insurance. Must be able to obtain First Aid/CPR and MANDT certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is office based and generally sedentary in nature. Must be able to use standard office equipment, lift and carry materials weighing up to fifty pounds.

COMPENSATION and BENEFITS

Full-time $20.09-$23.98/hr. DOE
