An innovative co-location and shared services model focused on supporting the entire family, CEB offers vibrant programs and support systems that provide a sound foundation for each student. It serves as a hub for families by offering services such as healthy meals, life coaches, and mental health services. This model leads to deeper family engagement in their child’s learning and allows schools to focus on teaching and learning, not operations and overhead. Serving over 1,500 students attending school in Wilmington’s central business, CEB is an educational ecosystem that holistically integrates programs and resources for students and their families, ensuring that every student has an equitable opportunity to succeed.

POSITION SUMMARY

The licensed Behavioral Health Counselor at the Community Education Building Family Resource Center plays a vital role in supporting the emotional and mental well-being of individuals and families within the community. This position requires a valid license and the ability to provide counseling, assessment, and intervention services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide individual, family, and group counseling to individuals in need of emotional and mental health support.
• Conduct initial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address mental health concerns.
• Be available for crisis intervention and support for individuals and families facing immediate emotional or psychological crises.
• Collaborate with emergency services and resources as needed.
• Develop and facilitate educational workshops and support groups related to mental health and well-being.
• Conduct outreach in the community to raise awareness of available mental health services.
• Collaborate with other staff and professionals to create holistic treatment plans for clients.
• Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and licensing requirements.
• Provide referrals to other service providers or community resources when necessary.
• Coordinate with other agencies and organizations to ensure clients receive comprehensive care.
• Administer and interpret standardized assessment tools when appropriate.
• Show cultural sensitivity and competence in working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
• Adapt counseling approaches to meet the unique needs of each client.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• A valid state license to practice as a Behavioral Health Counselor (e.g., Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist).
• Master's degree in counseling or a related field.
• Experience in providing mental health counseling and therapy to individuals and families.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques and mental health treatment modalities.
• Familiarity with local mental health resources and services.
• Ethical and professional behavior in accordance with legal and regulatory standards.

Pay: $57,000.00 - $61,000.00 per year
