Community First is looking for a Full Time Kitchen Assistant to join our Team!
Under direct supervision, Kitchen Assistant will be in charge of cleaning (sweeping, mopping, equipment, dish tank) all areas of Dining Services (Back of House) and organizing/storing (chemicals, food product). The Kitchen Assistant will also aide cooks in preparation of breakfast, lunch and dinner, assist in knife prep (cutting, chopping, and slicing). Must be approachable, customer service driven and cooperative in dealing with both staff and resident issues.
Schedule: Full Time - Monday through Friday 6am to 2pm
NO nights, weekends or holidays
Pay: Starting at $16/ Hour
Responsibilities:
- Supports catering services including delivering meals to catering clients, which requires transporting meals and effectively managing client relationships
- Assists cooks in preparing food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safety and efficiently
- Clean and maintain stations in practicing good safety and sanitation
- Assist with the cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment
- Clean and polish counters, shelves, walls and furniture.
- Restock items as needed throughout the shift
- Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
- Assists Executive Chef in receiving and distributing of deliveries.
- Demonstrates consistent attendance, punctuality and proper notification to Executive Chef.
- Assist in pantry organization.
- All other duties as assigned and/or appropriate to the position.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Licenses or other required certifications: Valid driver’s license required and ability maintain active car insurance.
Experience: None necessary will train for position needs
Specialized knowledge, skills, or abilities: Strong customer service and problem solving skills are essential. Must be able to adhere to Community First, County Combined Health District, and Ohio Department of Health policies, procedures, codes, rules and regulations on cleanliness and sanitation as it applies to the facility.
