POSITION SUMMARY
Maximize return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems.
COMPLIANCE WITH REGULATIONS
Works closely with accounting department to ensure that processes, programs and services are accomplished in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with CHG policies and procedures and in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations applicable to the Medi-Cal, Medicare Part D, Dual Special Needs Plan (SNP) lines of business, and other operational business components as may be needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees financial operations by planning, organizing and directing a variety of general financial analytic functions.
- Builds cohesive environment through leadership, training, staffing, and teamwork across financial functions; rate development, budgeting, capitation, provider payment tracking, forecasting, and revenue and claims analysis.
- Monitors financial data, analytics, and reporting by reviewing departmental outputs to ensure consistent and accurate financial reports for management, executive team, and regulators.
- Reviews and updates procedures and controls by analyzing financial operations practices, procedures, controls and systems, and recommends and implements appropriate improvements to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the finance department.
- Ensures regulatory and reporting compliance by following corporate, contractual, and regulatory rules, guidelines, and practices.
- Maintains departmental policies and practices to meet the needs and requirements set by governmental regulations and guidance on a timely basis.
- Provides financial and technical support to team by acting as a resource for financial staff, accounting personnel, other company employees, auditors, and outside agencies regarding various aspects of the company’s financial systems, policies and procedures and records of transactions; performing a variety of technical and/or specialized projects/assignments as required.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- BS degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- MBA highly preferred.
EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS
- At least 7 years of progressive growth in financial analytics and related experience in health care industry.
- 3 to 5 years in a managed care environment highly desirable.
- Ability to navigate multiple analytic tools via personal computer.
- Full working knowledge of spreadsheets, database management systems, and word processing,
- Use of logic, SQL, and related technical skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting.
- May be required to work evenings and/or weekends.
- Occasional traveling, including driving within County of San Diego.
