POSITION PURPOSE: Support and maintain all computer functions. Troubleshoot problems. Function as liaison with CHI MIS Department and with all software and hardware vendors. Manage systems, assign logins, and correct demographic errors. Work radiology task pool. Assist in scheduling diagnostic mammograms, tracking outcomes, and performing audits. Process subpoenas. Digitize films. Oversees all clerical functions within the imaging department.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED. Knowledge of office skills and business procedures. Clinical experience with a clear understanding of the workings in radiology environment. Experience administering a EHR's system, along with workflow knowledge and assessment abilities. Maintain current CPR certification from the American Heart Association. Excellent communications skills: ability to communicate effectively with off-site vendors. Understand the operation of our network and able to correct potential demographic errors. Ability to prioritize and integrate multiple technical and clinical responsibilities. Good organizational and documentation skills. Ability to recognize clinical urgencies. Ability to communicate with patients and providers. Work effectively with clinical staff. Bilingual preferred.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (THIS IS A NON EXEMPT POSITION):
Follows instruction to preform on-site functions.
Keeps the central department area clean and organized.
Correct demographic errors.
Maintain and order supplies and forms; revise forms when necessary.
Work the Radiology task pool, contact patients, make appointments and explain prep as needed.
Manage task/orders needing to be appropriately closed after 9 months.
Send required correspondence.
Obtain biopsy results and assist with outcome audits.
Follow up with HIM, if needed to ensure radiology reports are scanned
Assist with clerical functions.
Respond to needs of the Radiologist.
Maintains thorough, accurate, well-organized, accessible documentation.
Greets patients in a courteous manner and responds to them with empathy and positive interpersonal skills.
Follows departmental policies and procedures.
Knowledgeable in all aspects of daily operations.
Participates in and understands the principles of the quality management program.

Verifies release form is properly completed and copies films using proper technique.
Answers telephone, takes accurate and legible messages and routes telephone calls, delivers messages to appropriate person.
Makes appointments in Intergy, explains proper preparation and cost of procedure, and reschedules appointments when necessary.
Alerts Radiologist, Contracted Radiology Vendor, or Supervisor, as needed to STATS and/or other urgent and unusual situations.
Processes reports for mammograms and for outside providers using defined steps.
Carefully and thoroughly document all necessary information into the mammogram log and send the appropriate correspondence letter for each mammography patient.
Identify any incorrect medical record numbers or stickers that do not match and correct errors.
Throughout the day assisting patients complete worksheets, as needed.
Pick-up and distribute mail from the mailroom.
Adheres to Patient Confidentiality Policies and Procedures / HIPAA Regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
