JOB TITLE: Medical Assistant
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, 35 hours/week
SCHEDULED HOURS: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm (1 hour unpaid lunch)

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Adult Outpatient Program
The Adult Outpatient Services program (AOP) assists adult clients who are recovering from traumatic incidents, substance use, or are looking to manage a chronic mental health disorder through psychiatric & substance abuse diagnostic evaluation and treatment. AOP has a tier-based productivity incentive program, with the vast majority of staff consistently exceeding productivity expectations and obtaining a bonus. Typical days varies as there is the possibility to work with clients individually, in a group setting, or IOP. There is regular weekly supervision provided to all non-licensed staff and biweekly supervision for licensed staff. Nonetheless, supervisors are always available whenever you are working to answer questions and offer clinical assistance when needed.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Psychiatrist or APRN (Prescriber) to prepare clients for their appointments
- Take Blood Pressure, obtain weight, measure height and record all information in the medical
record
- Document ongoing client progress in areas that involve side relevant side effects of medication
(BP, wt gain)
- Assist Prescriber in submitting, routing and ensuring completion of lab work as ordered.
- Assist Prescriber with “Medication Only” clients to coordinate client-centered treatment planning.
- Complete paperwork for authorizations, benefits, correspondence as assigned
- Communicate with primary care clinician as directed by the Prescriber re sharing of information
- Communicate professionally with clients and their families
- Demonstrate competency in age related or specialty issues and developmental needs for each
population served.
- Work with prescriber and family regarding referrals to other medical and treatment resources.
- Complete assigned agency statistical and other recordkeeping according to agency policy and
procedures.
- Attend and participate actively in assigned team and staff meetings.
- Consult with other team members, e.g., therapists, M.D., when appropriate.
- Participate actively in maintaining a safe and positive environment
- Keep abreast of all agency policies and procedures
- Report client injuries and incidents to supervisor.
- Set positive example of interaction with clients and other staff.
- Take initiative in interaction with clients in order to set an example of
appropriate relationships
- Keep program First Aid supplies up-to-date as per agency policy.
- Manage disposal of hazardous waste according to agency policy
- Maintain client confidentiality.
- Keep abreast of current ideas, theories and research regarding treatment of
individuals with mental illness
- Participate in agency trainings
- May perform other assignments and duties, as area needs require.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Medical Assistant Diploma or A.A.S. (Applied Associate’s Degree) from an accredited
school.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
COMPENSATION *:
$16.3363/hr minimum- $22.4624/hr maximum, dependent upon experience
*Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience, as well as, adherence to our internal equity policy. Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives. (Please note, for part-time positions this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)
