About this unit:
- Nurses in this unit are expected to possess a high degree of critical thinking skills. Previous experience is required - preferably in a cardiology area or critical care area at minimum.
Porter's doctors use cardiac electrophysiology to both diagnose and treat heart disease. This position will be shared between the EP Lab and Holding area giving the nurse opportunity for many different experiences. Nurses in Porter's EP Lab can anticipating assisting with the following procedures:
- Ablations
- Watchman procedures
- Pacemaker and Defibrillator Implants
- EP Studies
- Loop Recorders

Education:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) required, BSN preferred.
Licensure & Certification:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana.
- BLS certification must be maintained while in this position
- ACLS certification within 12 months of hire, must be maintained while in this position
