Overview

Community Intervention Center (CIC) seeks a Safe Haven Manager/Supportive Services Caseworker to work closely with the direct service team, advancing the agency’s mission. The Safe Haven Program Manager coordinates all aspects of the Safe Haven to provide a safe, secure environment and complementary services to meet the needs of the homeless, marginalized population served who resist behavioral health treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Plans organizes and supervises the operation of the Safe Haven Apartments
  • Serves as liaison between Executive Director (ED) / community and Safe Haven Apartments’ residents
  • Collects data and prepares reports on existing agreements between Community Intervention Center (CIC) and Scranton Lackawanna Homeless Continuum of Care.
  • Provides a safe working and living environment for all staff, volunteers and residents.
  • Supervises maintenance and Safe Haven Apartments overall physical plant.
  • Participates in weekly staff meetings.
  • Maintains appropriate boundaries and confidentiality.
  • Attends networking meetings, educational trainings and workshops as directed.

Provides case management for tenant participants in Safe Haven Housing as follows:

  • Performs general intake and needs assessments for chronically homeless disabled individuals referred to CIC as potential Safe Haven residents.
  • Guides residents in a process to develop realistic short- and long-term goals.
  • Assists and supports program participants as they make efforts to meet their chosen goals, such as following through with medical, D/A, and Mental Health appointments.
  • Provides orientation to residents regarding rules and regulations of Safe Haven Apartments
  • Assists participants in connecting with mainstream services such as Social Security, County Assistance Office, CareerLink, Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, Allied Services, Goodwill etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience working with homeless and/or disabled individuals
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office and experience with data entry in database systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (active listening, conflict resolution, informed consent, etc.)
  • Experience with direct service to marginalized and under-resourced communities
  • Attention to detail (particularly as it relates to accuracy in paperwork and following program guidelines)
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office and experience with data entry in database systems
  • Ability to successfully work in a busy environment with complex, sometimes competing objectives
  • Ability to respectfully and kindly interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds
  • Ability to pass all background checks and maintain PA driver’s license with clean driving record.

This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.

The Position of Safe Haven Program Manager/Supportive Services Caseworker is responsible to the ED with ongoing supervision.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $42,000.00 per year
