Job Posting for ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF RESIDENTIAL SERVICES-OPWDD at Community Mainstreaming Associates
Community Mainstreaming is a non-profit human service agency committed to providing services to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities lead meaningful productive lives within their home and community. We are actively seeking a dedicated and caring Assistant Director of Residential Services to supervise multiple residential homes. The Assistant Director of Residential Services will be an ambassador for Community Mainstreaming Associates and the people we support.
Areas of Specific Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and oversight to the frontline program staff including residence managers, assistant residence managers, direct support professionals and, other program support staff and ensure the rights, health and safety of the people supported in your assigned programs at all times
Initiate collaborations with clinical support staff to ensure high quality services are provided to the people supported on an ongoing basis
Coordinate with HR when conducting interviews, observations, evaluations, disciplinary actions, and providing feedback on performance
Oversee, monitor, and ensure compliance with all waiver residential services including plan development, staff training, plan implementation, and data collection and documentation
Build relationships with and serve as a liaison for families. Provide regular and ongoing communication to the families, and provide support and assistance addressing questions and concerns regarding services and agency protocols
Build and maintain relationships with community providers including care coordinators, vocational and day services, and recreation programs
Advocate for and monitor opportunities for community inclusion for people supported in your assigned programs.
Oversee fiscal compliance within your assigned programs including monitoring compliance of required policies and protocols regarding individuals’ personal funds, as well as program/purchasing budget compliance, and payroll/overtime management.
Oversee the maintenance of the physical plant and grounds of your assigned programs. Ensure homes reflect the standards of the agency and meet regulatory safety requirements
Participate in development of new programs, including site selection, coordination and communication with OPWDD regional office, screening and selection of people to support in new programs as well as coordination of receipt of required records and documentation, conduct intake meetings, and provide regular written updates on project progress through certification
Collaborate with the quality improvement/staff development department to ensure that your assigned programs meet all regulatory and agency standards
Responsible to ensure the timely and accurate reporting and documentation of incidents as per regulatory requirements and agency policies to the appropriate agency leadership, as well as appropriate oversight agencies including OPWDD and the Justice Center
Serve on the Incident Review Committee, Human Rights Committee, as well as ad-hoc committees as assigned by the Senior Director of Residential Services
Serve as an agency wide trainer in areas you have subject matter expertise as requested
Fill in for residence managers within your assigned programs as needed
Remain on call for emergencies and incidents within your assigned programs and provide back-up on call to other residences in the absence of an assistant director
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in human services with at least 3 years providing supervisory supports in an OPWDD certified program
Strong leadership skills and an ability to work in a collaborative manner with agency staff, families, and the people supported
Excellent problem solving and communication skills
Capacity for mature judgment and ability to handle emergencies in a professional manner
Willingness to be on call and work a flexible schedule to meet the program needs
Competent in relevant state, federal regulations as related to OPWDD supports and services
