This is a full time (0.8-1.0 Status) day shift RN Circulator Resident position in the Surgery department.
POSITION SUMMARY: The circulator resident is a new graduate from an accredited nursing program. This position provides necessary orientation to fulfill a surgery RN position.
PRIMARY (ESSENTIAL) DUTIES: The RN circulator resident in collaboration with their RN circulator preceptor utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care of surgical patients from department admission to transfer. Provides care and education to patients in the perioperative setting and acts as a patient advocate. Is knowledgeable in surgical procedures, disease processes, interventions, and pharmacological agents. Collects and prepares all equipment and supplies needed for each procedure. Provides proper care and cleaning of equipment and the surgical environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collect appropriate supplies and equipment.
- Prepare operating room for specific procedures.
- Assist anesthesia providers.
- Safe patient positioning.
- Sterile prepping.
- Documentation.
- Operating room turnovers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Education: RN License required, BSN Preferred.
Preferred Certification(s): BLS for healthcare provider required, ACLS within 3 months of hire.
Required Skills: Proficient in English, verbal and written communication skills, and computer skills required.
Weekend Requirements: Weekend & Weekday call.
