Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.
We are now hiring for an Incident Management Assistant in Rockville, MD - who will be responsible for monitoring the systematic operations of incident management and internal investigations of residential, day, and vocational programs.
Responsibilities:
Review incident documentation and verify all required elements are complete to accurately support incident packages
Ensure incident packages are submitted timely per state regulations
Monitor Therap General Event Records (GER’s) to verify incidents are properly documented and reported
Verify that all required notifications have been made to the individual’s team, management, clinical staff, and regulatory agencies
Participate in regular incident review committee meetings, and maintain incident management database as required
Enter all incident information into the database and IRMA timely
Assist in reviewing investigation recommendations with the Incident Management Coordinator and Incident Review Committee
Ensure follow-up documentation is submitted to the regulatory body
Monitor the implementation of Incident Review Committee recommendations and report any issues
Respond timely to regulatory bodies as needed
Conduct investigation follow-up as required or requested by the Incident Review Committee
Assist Incident Management with ensuring assigned regions comply with Community Options Abuse and Neglect Policy
Assist in quarterly and annual trend analysis studies as required
Participate as a member of the National and Local QA/Incident Review Committees
Chair Human Rights Committee if needed
Conduct staff trainings as needed
Attend all staff meetings as determined by supervisor
Attend conferences, seminars and training relevant to the position
Employees must cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation
Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Associates/bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least three years of relevant experience preferred
Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record
Knowledge of Maryland COMAR regulations, preferred
Experience with community-based support for persons with disabilities
Ability to maintain effective relationships with management, employees, regulatory/oversight agencies, and the general public
Excellent time management skills, and the ability to develop and implement multiple priorities
Ability to effectively present facts and recommendations in oral and written form
Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload
Excellent presentation and verbal skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
Working Conditions:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple priorities
Travel throughout designated regions utilizing own vehicle
