CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, Non-Exempt
JOB SUMMARY:
A child care provider provides care for children 6 weeks through 4 years of age under the supervision of the Child Care Center Director. The child care provider will help introduce and educate new and basic concepts to children by reading to, talking to, playing with, and nurturing them. The child care provider must be able to communicate well with the parents, which will include keeping daily records on the child. As a floater, this position could cover any of the three childcare locations within the company.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
Operate the classroom in compliance with all child care licensing standards, and Employee and Policy Handbooks. Must have a warm and caring attitude toward working with children and their families. Must be dependable and honest. Must be flexible and adapt to change throughout the program. Must be willing to accept supervision in order to improve work performance. Must be physically able to work with young children.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED. Must be 18 years of age. Must have minimum of one year work experience working with children and meet additional training requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Apply for WV STARS Career Pathway
- Complete 15 hours of approved training each year
- Child abuse and neglect training
- First Aid and CPR training
- Meet all licensing requirements for a Type I Center in WV
Salary : $12 - $15
