We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant who will be responsible for providing support throughout the monthly and annual financial statement close process. This individual will oversee a variety of accounting functions within the fiscal department, and supervise four staff including the accounts payable coordinators, purchasing coordinator and a staff accountant.
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to the following:
1.Support month-end and year-end close process
2.Assist with the preparation of the monthly and year-end financial statements
3.Prepare timely and accurate monthly journal entries
4.Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
5.Review and approve employee expense reports, petty cash and travel advance accounts
6.Reconcile and prepare entries to expense IT Inventory monthly
7.Record intercompany transactions and reconcile intercompany accounts
8.Prepare monthly indirect and cost allocation entries
9.Supervise, train and mentor account payable coordinator, purchasing coordinator and staff accountant.
10.Assist the Director of Accounting with the preparation and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
11.Prepare audit schedules as well as other analyses for the year-end audit.
12.Develop and implement process enhancements.

14.Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree or 5 years relevant experience working with contract invoicing and management may substitute.
- Four (4) years previous related experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with federal & state grants & contracts preferable.
- Excellent computer skills including Excel, and non-profit accounting software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures, and identities, including underserved communities.
