RIVERKIDS COORDINATOR

Days and Hours: up to 20 hours of per week typically between 2:00p.m. -6:00 p.m.

Benefits: 403(b), cell phone stipend

Pay Rate: $18.00 based on experience

Responsible to: CEO

Staff Member agrees to:
be responsible for oversite and preparation of all RiverKids clubs at each location for this 12-week program.


Responsibilities

  • Develop RiverKids Curriculum and Activities
    • Research, procure and adapt curriculum for use
    • Collaborate with site leads and ELP directors for scheduling and facility use
    • Recruit, train and monitor staff
    • Purchase and prepare supplies for staff as needed
  • Create and maintain a safe, enriching environment for the students and staff:
    • Ensure that activities are engaging, age-appropriate, and comply with CYM curriculum goals
    • Use appropriate behavioral discipline procedures (for students and staff)
    • Ensure effective supervision of all RiverKids activities.
    • Ensure student to staff ratios are manageable
    • Document all discipline and safety issues (e.g., injuries) and implement corrective action when/where applicable.
  • Support and coach/mentor RiverKids staff as needed:
    • Review and approve lesson plans
    • Observe staff each week and offer critiques and coaching as needed
    • Conduct regular staff meetings, providing professional development training which addresses staff areas of growth where appropriate.
  • Conduct evaluations of each staff
  • Cultivate relationships with parents and school staff (teachers and administrators) as appropriate.
  • Maintain adequate records as required by CYM (e.g., attendance)
  • Maintain current communication with CYM (admin. team, staff, site leads & program directors).
    • Proactively communicate pertinent issues via phone or email.
    • Attend and actively participate in assigned meetings
    • Ensure that all payroll information is accurately recorded and communicated to the CYM office within two business days of each pay period's end date or as directed by CYM administrative staff.
    • Check voicemail and email daily and respond in a timely manner
    • Ensure that spending and expenses are kept within budget parameters.

Follow all policies as described in the CYM Handbook and promote the Program with all stakeholders
