Job Description
Our next Buyer will be responsible for incorporating the e-commerce vision through the management of purchasing for Comoto Holdings. Our Buyer will assist the Merchandising team in building the most compelling and well-balanced assortment of products, while partnering with them to make appropriate inventory and analytical decisions. Your key role is building relationships with our vendors to ensure product is always in stock and never missing an opportunity to maximize profitable sales for Comoto Holdings.
Qualifications
Our Next Buyer Will:
- Interpret DRP (Demand Resource Planning) system data to issue purchase orders to suppliers and confirm quantity ordered, pricing, and lead time.
- Manage suppliers to resolve performance issues having an impact on costs, customer service or inventory.
- Follow up on outstanding orders and back orders, apply proper expediting techniques, and make special arrangements to ensure on-time delivery.
- Resolve supplier performance and supply chain issues prior to any business interruption.
- Provide both written and verbal communication on all problems/opportunities that occur in your area of responsibility to include actions being taken to correct, and a recommended action plan with a timetable for achieving.
- Maintain levels of inventory to avoid stock outs while working directly with vendors to avoid inventory lapses.
- Assess vendor capabilities, develop alternate sources (considering both cost, supply and risk mitigation factors) and evaluate vendor performance.
- Work with merchants to identify cost negotiation and pricing opportunities for margin improvement.
- Work closely with Manager of Planning and Information and Director of Merch Planning and Sourcing to support and maintain ERP system.
- Develop a collaborative relationship with those you need to maintain good rapport in order to successfully accomplish your job.
Our Next Buyer Has:
- 3-5 years experience in buying/sourcing/purchasing/planning, and/or e-commerce merchandising in an eCommerce or retail merchandising environment, with a focus on finished product.
- Experience with DRP (Demand Resource Planning) systems
- A problem solving mentality, you're a strategic thinker and a self-starter, you'll identify challenges and proactively identify the solutions. You will be someone who can work well on your own and have the business acumen to make judgment calls with sound reasoning.
- A people-person personality, you'll be interfacing with multiple internal teams throughout your day-today including merchandising, accounting, and fulfillment. Additionally, you will be in regular communication with many of our vendors on a daily basis, confident and polished communication are a must.
