Veterinary Assistant

Companion Animal Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our outstanding team, who just grew one doctor!!!! This is a full-time or part-time role.

You’ll be an excellent addition to our team if you enjoy connecting with clients and are committed to a career in veterinary medicine. We’re open to all experience levels as long as there is a cultural fit and individuals are open to training/continued growth. Candidates must be comfortable around small animals and available to work Sundays.

Primary responsibilities:

• Candidates must be comfortable with client contact and helping out in exam rooms
• Patient handling and restraint
• Surgical prep and clean up
• Communication with other team members
• Cleaning up after animals (yard, cages, bowls, etc.)
• Attention to detail and awareness of surroundings, noticing areas of need
• Observation of behaviors, and knowing when to alert a supervisor about a change in one of the animals
• The position is physical and involves a lot of standing and walking, lifting, and many chores throughout the hospital such as cleaning, dishes, restocking, garbage, and laundry
