- Monday – Friday 8:00 – 5:00 pm / $17/hour
We are currently seeking one candidate, who has a good understanding of the accounting process, to join the accounting team of our travel industry-based client. The ideal person will have their degree in accounting or be pursuing it with hands-on experience. This candidate should also have a good understanding of the overall accounting reconciliation process. Position will be hybrid (half in-office, half work-from-home).
Position Summary
The Accounting Assistant is in San Diego, CA reports to the Controller for this client. This position assists the Accounting Department and all Staff Accountants with reviewing, filing, and scanning of documents and other general clerical duties.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Upload travel manifests to system
- Reconciliation of premiums paid in system to premiums posted by accounting department
- Identify, communicate and solve issues with outside departments
- Perform ad hoc projects as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or related area preferred
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel – including V-Lookups
- Strong data entry, especially numerical
- Basic accounting knowledge of the reconciliation process
- Excellent customer service skills
- Willingness to learn new things and take on new duties
- Ability to focus and attention to detail
- Good organization skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work as a part of team as well as individually
