POSITION DETAILS:
Employment Specialist for Foundational Community Supports (FCS) provides supported employment and case-managed services to FCS and Aging and Long Term Support Administration (ALTSA) eligible clients seeking supported employment services. The employment specialist provides client-driven case management services some of which include identifying and eliminating barriers to employment. Resume review/building, targeted job search, job development, and job retention services such as job coaching, connecting to resources, weekly check-ins and more.
We are looking for candidates who can provide the best possible supports for sustained, equitable and gainful employment for our participants in the communities in which they live.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Discover and maintain knowledge of clients, their employment goals, potential employer matches, and other case mgt. needs.
- Assist clients to assess and further their career growth and skills.
- Assist clients in obtaining gainful employment at wages at or above minimum wage.
- Provide ongoing employment related soft and hard skills development to assist clients in obtaining and retaining independent employment.
- Conduct intakes, assessments, and career goal plans.
- Document data and notes to document the individual’s progress toward goals on barrier, employment/ service plans.
- Make connections to maintain strong community partnerships with other service providers and employers.
MUST HAVES:
- One-year experience and/or training providing employment services and/or direct case management to vulnerable populations or a population in crisis.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- A valid driver's license, insurance, and personal transportation (requires safe driving record)
NICE TO HAVES:
- CESP (Certified Employment Support Professional)
- CPR or FA Certifications
- Experience working with individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders
SKILLS CRUCIAL TO SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE:
- High level of integrity and personal accountability and responsibility.
- Ability to work well independently in the community, while also being a strong collaborator and advocate.
- Strong customer service and active listening skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills are a must.
