Coreworks is hiring immediately for a full time and part time GARDENER I position.
- Location: Sequoias In Portola Valley - 501 Portola Valley Road, Portola Valley, CA 94028
- Schedule: Full time and Part time schedules available. Monday through Friday, hours may vary. More details upon interview.
- Requirement: One year of groundskeeping experience is preferred.
- Pay Range: $22.74 per hour to $28.16

Job Summary
Summary: Plants and repairs new and established lawns; performs maintenance of ornamental landscapes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans, plants and cultivates lawns using gardening implements and power-operated equipment.
- Repairs established lawns using seed mixtures and fertilizers recommended for particular soil types.
- Performs maintenance of ornamental landscapes, including lawns, small trees, groundcovers, shrubs and annual/perennial color displays.
- Locates and plants shrubs, trees and flowers as directed.
- Lays mulch, wood chips, moss and other soil moisturizers depending on the plants and climate.
- Trims shrubs and cultivates gardens; cleans grounds using rakes, brooms and hoses.
- Sprays trees and shrubs; applies supplemental liquid and dry nutrients to lawn and trees.
- Performs weed abatement and other grounds-related functions as needed.
- Digs trenches and installs drain tiles.
- Repairs concrete and asphalt walks and driveways.
- Operates motor vehicles to transport materials and equipment.
- Assists with completion and submittal of weekly tool, equipment and vehicle maintenance reports.
- Follows standard operating procedures for assigned tasks and projects; follows all safety protocol.
- Deploys for emergency response due to inclement weather, i.e. snow and ice, tornado or other crisis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to repeatedly lift 25 pounds and kneel/bend/stoop for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions:
- Extensive walking and equipment operation. Exposure to: extreme weather conditions, pesticides, fertilizers, pollen producing environment, paint and petroleum products. Work time expectation: 90% of time will be physical labor, 10% training and misc.
