Job Summary
Working as the Purchasing Food Manager will be responsible for implementing, achieving and maintaining quality and efficiency standards of a large Kosher Hospital food service account based purchasing processes and expectations through strong leadership and effective management, while supporting interpersonal priorities and supplying to the strength of the company’s financial position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicates with crucial team and management associates relative to purchases consistent with needs and specifications.
- Ensures weekly inventory is accurate and there are no errors before submission
- Negotiates pricing and purchase goods and ensure delivery in a timely manner.
- Reviews shipments to ensure products received are consistent orders.
- Compiles monthly reports
- Works with Excel and Visual Basic to handle inventory
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of Associate's Degree preferred
- Minimum of three years related experience in field
- Experience working in a Kosher food service operation preferred
- Must have full knowledge of purchasing procedures, food, beverage products
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and ordering systems
- P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable
- Possess accurate data-entry skills and be detailed oriented with phenomenal organizational skills
- Knowledge of nutrition / food industry and/or purchasing strongly preferred.
- Serv Safe certified helpful
