**Community-Based Prevention Program Coordinator**
Position Purpose
As a Community-Based Prevention Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing substance abuse and risky behavior prevention programs in collaboration with the Strategic Prevention Department staff. You will also be in charge of developing training plans for prevention staff and leading the development of a strategic plan for the prevention department focusing on coalition development and Tobacco Merchant Education to reduce underage tobacco sales in the Bates, Cedar, Saint Clair, Henry, and Vernon counties.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct community assessments to identify risk and protective factors related to substance abuse and risky behaviors
- Identify gaps in existing services and programs that address these issues
- Develop capacity building strategies and plans for organizations and community coalitions
- Create and implement comprehensive strategic plans based on evidence-based practices
- Assist coalitions in planning and executing prevention initiatives, providing training and technical assistance as needed
- Establish and maintain prevention coalitions in the community to address identified issues
- Assist in pursuing funding opportunities to support prevention efforts
- Contribute to the growth and effectiveness of the prevention department by enhancing budget, staffing, and community standing
- Facilitate educational workshops and training sessions for community groups on prevention strategies and risk factors
- Prepare and submit reports on program activities, funding opportunities, and future prevention plans
