Construction Safety Professional
We are seeking a dynamic team player as a Safety Professional to join our team of experienced Safety experts. This opportunity is not for someone seeking a cookie-cutter career, rather diversity. Responsibilities Include:
- Assist contractors on implementing effective safety programs
- Initiate and audit high risk work permits (e.g., crane operations, work at heights, confined space entries, hot work, excavations)
- Provide jobsite safety orientation and oversee subcontractor safety performance
- Prepare and present training in safety topics such as fall protection, hot work, lockout / tagout, confined space entry, powered industrial trucks, electrical safety, scaffold safety, cranes/rigging, excavation/trenches, hazard communication, ladder safety, etc.
- Conduct routine (daily and weekly) jobsite safety inspections
- Mentor/coach contractor managers and employees in safe work practices
- Classroom, virtual & on the floor training
- Conduct assessments and audits to improve the safety culture
- Conduct safety supervisory training and coaching both in person and virtually
- Build relationships through effective communication and responsiveness
- Work collectively to support company and client initiatives
- In tandem with your team, develop engaging training materials for in person and virtual learning.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in safety related field or equivalent work experience with an OSHA Outreach Construction Training Certification
- Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction and 1910 general industry standards and best practices, preferred.
- Effective organizational, communication and training skills a must
- Experience in maintaining OSHA requirements for multiple worksites, preferred.
- Ability to physically perform the duties and work in any type of environmental conditions
- Proven experience administering safety training.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a construction safety environment
- Demonstrates organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrates attention to detail and delivery of quality materials
- Ability to organize, facilitate, and manage meetings and tasks
- Experience with writing clear and concise reports
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Outstanding professional communication skills, written and verbal
- Must be flexible and adaptable to meet team needs.
