Position Summary

The Medical Assistant is responsible for technical skills encompassing patient care and related tasks under the direction of a Doctor, or the Clinic Coordinator. The Medical Assistant works closely with patients and medical staff to ensure proper testing, documentation and use of equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Delivering direct patient care to patients as assigned, using established procedures. This may include collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, drawing blood, urine drug screen collection and breath alcohol testing, recording vital signs, vision and hearing testing, respiratory fit testing, pulmonary function tests and related clinical tasks.Drawing blood samples for laboratory testing

  • Documenting history; recording and reporting pertinent observations and patient reactions to staff, as appropriate; documenting lab procedures and ensuring follow up on results
  • Using screening procedures, taking medical history, and observing and documenting
  • Verifying equipment function through routine equipment maintenance and advanced trouble shooting; calibrating equipment utilizing approved testing procedures; monitoring quality control measures and protocols
  • Administrative duties including maintaining patient medical records, completing initial injury reports, sending reports and results to clients per protocols
  • Work at patient reception, register patients, answer phones, schedule appointments and manage walk ins.
  • Compliance with healthcare regulations and preventative measures (HIPAA confidentiality, infection spread, etc.) and all Company policies and procedures.
  • Exemplary customer service experience including client relationships and job knowledge
  • Communicate in a clear, professional and concise manner
  • Prioritize and manage time effectively; ability to critically think; detail oriented
  • Present a positive customer service experience and well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Work overtime when required.
  • Regular, physical on-site attendance
  • Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate Degree from an accredited institution is preferred
  • Completion of a training program and certificate such as Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from an accredited institution is required
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a Medical Assistant in an emergency room, urgent care center or occupational medicine clinic is required.
  • Phlebotomy and training and experience preferred.

Note: Associated really assessments must be completed. Additional assessments will also be conducted.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
