The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and ensures the organization consistently achieves its mission, vision, and financial objectives. This position is an exempt salaried position. EOE
Organization:
Assure that the organization has a long-range strategy that achieves its mission and toward which it makes consistent and timely progress.
Provides leadership in developing program, organizational and financial plans and carries out procedures and policies authorized by the Board.
Promote active and broad participation by volunteers in the organization's work.
Maintain official records and documents, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and contract requirements.
Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field.
Communication:
Ensures the Board is fully informed on the condition of the organization and all important factors influencing it.
Establish and maintain sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with community groups, organizations, and Local, State, and Federal officials.
Represent the programs and values of the organization to agencies, organizations, and the general public.
Staff:
Support the recruitment, employment, and release of all paid staff and volunteer personnel.
Ensure job descriptions are developed and maintained, regular performance evaluations are conducted, and sound human resource practices are in place.
Ensure that an effective management team is in place.
Encourage staff and volunteer development and education.
Maintain a climate that attracts, keeps, and motivates a diverse staff of highly qualified people.
Budget and finance:
Ensure and maintain sound financial practices.
Work with the staff in preparing a budget; see that the programs operate within budget guidelines.
Understand and oversee the program budgets.
