Assistant Clinical Manager

Summary/Objective

Under general direction from the Clinical Manager, this role oversees departmental staff activities, ensuring patient satisfaction and adherence to policies, procedures, standards and regulations. In collaboration with the Clinical Manager, manages patient care delivery to optimize patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, and resource management.

This position requires strong organizational skills, ability to communicate medical information. Clear and concise communication with an emphasis on quality assurance. An interaction will be necessary to communicate with the physicians, physician assistants, medical assistants, insurance companies, hospitals and patients on a daily basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as a clinical resource and mentor for staff.
  • Participates in or is responsible for the interviewing, hiring, and competency assessment in conjunction with the Clinical Manager.
  • Monitors and evaluates unit compliance with regulatory agency requirements.
  • Collaborates with care coordinators, care managers, utilization review staff and providers in relation to appropriateness of care.
  • Supports the development of the plan of care through collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Monitors customer satisfaction, in collaboration with the manager, shares results with staff, and improves in target areas.
  • Monitors associate satisfaction and addresses issues or concerns, to assure resolution.
  • Oversees staffing and scheduling, in collaboration with manager.
  • Participates in or is responsible for the interviewing, hiring, and competency assessment in conjunction with the Clinical Manager.
  • Assumes responsibilities in the absence of the Clinical Manager.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, exempt, salary position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Required Education and Experience and Skills

  • Associate’s degree in a medical field - preferred
  • Pass a minimum of one exam from the National Commission for Certifying Agencies
  • 2 years of working in the healthcare field
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Superior customer service skills
  • A high level of professionalism
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills
  • Strong communication, organization, and follow-through
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)

Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
